An International Festival Dedicated to Diaspora Communities
The International Diaspora Folklore Festival is a three-day international cultural event dedicated exclusively to diaspora folklore groups and communities that actively safeguard, transmit, and practice intangible cultural heritage while living outside their country of origin.
The festival highlights the vital role of communities, groups, and practitioners in maintaining traditional music, dance, costumes, oral expressions, rituals, and social practices in migration and diaspora contexts, in accordance with UNESCO principles.
Festival Objectives
In line with the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003), the festival aims to:
- Safeguard and promote living intangible cultural heritage practiced by diaspora communities
• Support the intergenerational transmission of traditional knowledge and skills
• Strengthen the role of communities as bearers and transmitters of cultural heritage
• Foster cultural diversity, mutual respect, and intercultural dialogue
• Encourage international cooperation in the field of cultural heritage

International Seminar on Folklore Preservation
A thematic seminar with cultural experts, researchers, and folklore leaders focusing on:

• Best practices for safeguarding folklore traditions
Workshops & Cultural Exchange
Interactive workshops and round-table discussions dedicated to:
• Traditional dance, music, and costumes

How to Apply
To apply, interested groups must submit:
- Completed application form

Participation Conditions
Option 1 – Fee 40 euro per person (for participants and accompanying persons)
Option 2 – 3 Nights / 4 Days
Hotel***basic - 185 euro per person
Hotel***comfort - 205 euro euro per person
Hotel**** - 225 euro euro per person
The package includes:
- 3 nights accommodation in 3-4 bed rooms
- 3 full boards – breakfast , lunch and dinner
- Participation in 2 concerts, cultural activities, and exchanges
- Tourist tax
* For groups of 25 participants, 26th is serviced free of charge, for the groups with over 40 participants, 41st, 42nd and 43rd are serviced free of charge.
*Supplement for double room – 7 euro per day per person
Confirmation
To participate in the festival the director of the group should fill and sign the application you find below and send it to us with a creative biography of the group and some photos sent by e-mail. The confirmation is guaranteed by advance payment amounting to 30% of the overall cost. The rest of payment can be made till 20th of August 2027. Until 30th of August 2027 each group should send the list of participants, name/surname, sex, date of birth and passport number for registration in hotel.
Cancellation policy
- Until 60 days before the date of arrival, no penalty will be applied
- From 59 to 15 daysprior to arrival the deposit will be withheld and applied a further penalty equal to 30% the entire booked stay;
- If the group cancells participation due to events of force majeure like atmospheric events, natural disasters, epidemics, illness or in cases not dependent on the group or the festival organization, the payment deposit made by the group will be forward to next festivals organizied by Sopravista usable in 3 years.
